Turkeys, Beef, and Hogs! Oh my!

There’s a chill in the air, I’m wearing a long-sleeved shirt  and I’m reminiscing about a SCORCHING hot week. The week of the junior livestock show.

The Stock Show is a great time to meet new friends or just see a friend you met a long time ago. Starting with a friend that I had just met last year, his name is Evan, a great person who doesn’t trust the front brakes on bikes. He shows sheep and is fun to hang out with/without bikes. Another friend I saw was Sammy. I helped her ride her bike for some reason I didn’t know at the time but later I realized it was her birthday and the bike was her 7th birthday present.hanging out was cool she kept saying that she wasnt good at riding her bike, but I saw she was a natural. She was already doing donuts! Jake and Nathan are in my 4-H club. I had fun working and hanging out with them.  we had PIZZA, rode bikes, and cleaned turkey pens.

I enjoyed showing my animals. In poultry showmanship I got second place. I really enjoyed shaking Mr. Larry Stallings’ hand my mom had us extend the hand shake so she could get a good picture it ended up as a live picture. Mr. Stallings is the poultry judge and has lots of chicken knowledge. Although my turkeys were the XS size of all of the turkeys they were market ready. Next year I will show chickens, turkeys and big pigs
