Mosaic muffins

The heat has been near 100° farenheit out here for more than a week. My chickens absolutely HATE the heat. This morning, I made special treats for my chickens to cool them down. I like to call them mosaic muffins. To make them I needed to make electrolytes. The recipe is 1 cup water, 2 tsp sugar, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp baking soda. The recipe is from Fresh Eggs Daily by Lisa Steele. I doubled the recipe to make 24 watermelon muffins. 6fd235e651955b1a9768561dd0450e1f

I went out to the garden and found some delicious delicacies for chickens. In my basket you will find Echinacea, lemon balm, currants (from the community garden), spearmint, mint chocolate, lettuce, lavender, and strawberry leaves. I mixed that with the electrolytes, put it in a muffin tin and, boom! Final product! 6fd235e651955b1a9768561dd0450e1f
